Recycle Used Oil

Nearly every individual has used oil they do not know how to dispose of correctly. All automotive fluids, including antifreeze, transmission and brake fluids can be recycled along with used oil at the District. A few residents even bring in used oil filters to be recovered correctly. Gas and oil mix or oil contaminated with water can be recycled through this program.

If you have questions about the types of fluids the District will recycle, the answer is only a phone call away at 1-800-777-5462. Small business owners, farmers and do-it-yourselfers are encouraged to call the District prior to arrival.

Oil can be brought to the NISWMD every Friday morning from 8:00 a.m.–
12:00 p.m. A $5.00 vehicle fee is assessed to offset recovery costs. Antifreeze and other automotive related fluids may be recycled at this location as well. Please view the Residential Household Hazardous Waste program for a list of items accepted and applicable fees. The fees listed here and on the Residential Problem Waste page apply to residents only.
